FIGURE SKATING
You may remember Danniella McCormick (S2), Wellington School’s resident figure skater. A serious injury has had little impact on her career given that the last month has been a particularly exciting time in the young skater’s career.
In August, Danniella was selected – for the second year running, no less – for the National Ice Skating Association’s GB Development Squad; then, at the Dundee Open, she competed in a very challenging category (Novice A) gaining a personal best and a 2nd Place trophy! We are also delighted to announce that Danniella, who ‘fell in love’ with skating at the age of 7, has been ranked 4th in the UK at her level – an incredible achievement. ‘I don’t know what I would do without skating and the amazing friends I’ve made. My dream and ambition is to one day become a British Champion and be an inspiration like some older skaters are to me’ says Danniella.
While the title of British Champion evades her at present, Danniella already is a champion to us![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
