Head of Modern Languages
We are looking to appoint a Head of Modern Languages to lead this important and vibrant area of the curriculum at Wellington School. The successful candidate will be an energetic, innovative and determined individual, with a passion for languages and the ability to share this with pupils.
This is a post for a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspiring teacher who is able to teach more than one language throughout the school. French, Spanish and German are all taught to Advanced Higher level and the Head of Modern Languages is responsible for teaching and learning through the Department. The person appointed will be a fluent and accurate speaker and writer of language who demonstrates a genuine love of the subject, enthusiasm for teaching it and an imaginative, creative and energetic approach to helping pupils to share that enjoyment. Pupils have the opportunity to choose from three modern languages – French, German and Spanish – and the uptake at all levels is strong. This is an all- through school and the ability and willingness to teach Primary French is essential.
The position is full-time, permanent and commences in August 2023. The salary for this post will be in accordance with SNCT scales.

Head of Modern Languages Job Description
School Janitor
Wellington School has a vacancy for a School Janitor. The post is offered for an initial 2 years fixed term basis on an Annualised Hours contract, equivalent to 37.5 hours per week. Salary will be paid at UK National Living Wage +£1. (A current hourly rate of £10.50).
The janitor is an important member of the school premises and facilities team and will need to be as comfortable working with our pupils, parents and visitors as they are at premises caretaking, maintenance and manual handling duties. A willingness to take a flexible approach to working hours is required as the job will be carried out on alternating opening and closing shifts and the nature of the school can occasionally require late closing or facilitating external lets outside core hours.
The janitor will be a trusted key holder and will also have responsibility for driving the school mini buses. A D1 category on your driving license is an essential requirement for this role.
You will work closely with our Maintenance Manager and will enjoy physical working and carrying out repairs and maintenance of property and equipment. You should also be adept at accessing information via smartphone apps.

Administration Assistant
Wellington School has a vacancy for an Administration Assistant to work within the senior school. The post is offered on a 2 years Fixed Term basis with a term time working pattern of 38 weeks. A full annual leave allowance of 28 days is paid in addition to the term working pattern.
The job is a very fast paced and varied one, and we need somebody who can take on a variety of administration and support tasks. You will be required to support our teachers by printing learning materials ; carrying out a daily check on pupil registration ; liaising with outside suppliers and organisations, including booking venues and school transport ; assisting with school events and keeping our own internal booking systems and resource calendars up to date. The role will also have specific responsibility to provide administrative support to our very busy PE department.
You will need to be able to work accurately and at a fast pace, using modern office technologies and information systems.

Administrator, Database and Information Specialist (Academic Support)
Wellington School has a vacancy for an Administrator, Database and Information Specialist (Academic Support). The post is offered on a 28 hours per week basis (.8FTE) with a full time equivalent salary range of £26,000 to £28,000 ; 45 days annual leave which will also be adjusted pro rata in line with working hours.
We are seeking to appoint someone with strong analytical IT skills and expertise in database applications to work closely with senior staff as a key member of our academic support team. The successful applicant will be someone who enjoys working with information and data and is a self starter and problem solver. You should be qualified for the role by education and experience and understand the importance of taking a flexible approach to work in order to get the job done.
