Teacher of Physics/Chemistry (0.6 FTE)
We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Physics/Chemistry to join the thriving and highly successful Science Department at Wellington School. The successful candidate will be required to teach some junior classes alongside a timetable extending to pupils embarking on National 5 courses. The position becomes available in August 2024 and this is a part-time appointment, initially for a period of 1 year.
This is a post for a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspiring teacher. He or she will have the ability to deliver courses with confidence and authority and, as such, a degree in Physics/Chemistry or a closely related subject is required. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates a genuine love of the subject, enthusiasm for teaching it and an imaginative, creative and energetic approach to helping pupils to share this enjoyment. Computers, interactive technology and web-based resources are an intrinsic part of Science teaching and fluency with these, together with a thoughtful approach to their use, is essential.
The position is part-time (0.6FTE over 4 days) and commences on Tuesday 20 August or as soon as possible thereafter. Initially, the appointment will be for a period of 1 year.
Applicants must either be registered with GTC Scotland, or eligible for registration. All teaching appointments are subject to clearance through the Disclosure Scotland Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme.
