Wellington School – New Headteacher Announced

Ms Gallacher brings a wealth of experience, strong leadership and a real passion for nurturing every child’s potential. Currently Depute Rector at Kelvinside Academy in Glasgow, she gained a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in English and French Literature and Institutions at the University of Stirling and graduated with distinction in PGCE Secondary Education from University of Strathclyde. In a career spanning almost 25 years, she began teaching English at Mearns Castle High School, before moving to Jordanhill School, where she was promoted within their pastoral team. She joined Kelvinside Academy in 2017 as Head of Senior 6 and was promoted to be part of the Senior Leadership Team in 2019. Alongside her role as Depute Rector, she is an HMiE Associate Assessor and a long-standing committee member of the Scottish Guidance Association.

Ms Gallacher joins Wellington with a clear educational vision, commitment to the values of Wellington school and strong belief in the importance of staff and pupil wellbeing. We are very much looking forward to welcoming her to the Wellington family.
