Many of them attended an excellent forum on gender inequality in the workplace, hosted online by George Watson’s College. They had the chance to hear from Ruth Davidson, Debora Kayembe (Rector of the University of Edinburgh), Dr Carol Marsh OBE (Deputy Head of Electronics Engineering at Leonardo UK) and Tracy Black (Director, Confederation of British Industry Scotland). It was a fascinating insight into issues surrounding the pay gap, glass ceiling and importance of gender equality in all walks of life.

As well as this, our Higher pupils were delighted to welcome Siobhian Brown MSP to the school for the first time. She took part in a very comprehensive Q &A session and pupils came up with many interesting, probing questions. This opportunity to meet in person and discuss issues including the handling of the pandemic, the work of committees in the Scottish Parliament and life as a new MSP, will certainly help pupils contextualise their learning and prepare them for their upcoming exams.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
